Dandori: a truly free project planning tool for teams
Workspaces, projects, tasks, subtasks, sharing — no credit card, no ads, no tracking.
Dandori is live. It is a free project planning tool built around the Japanese concept of dandori — the craft of thinking through work in ordered steps before you begin executing. The idea is simple: consolidate goals, tasks, and dependencies into one place, and see the plan from whatever angle is useful right now.
What it does
The structure follows a clear hierarchy: Workspaces contain Projects, which contain Tasks, which can have Subtasks. That covers most real-world planning needs without inventing extra concepts.
Each project can be viewed in three ways:
- Board — kanban-style columns (Not Started, In Progress, Done)
- Timeline — a Gantt-style view for visualising duration and overlap
- Waiting on — a dedicated view for dependencies and external blockers
Sharing
You can share with external people and control the scope precisely: the whole workspace, a single project, or even a single subtask. That makes it workable for a mix of internal teams and outside collaborators without giving everyone access to everything.
The workflow
The intended flow is four steps: plan it, assign it, track it, done. The screenshot below shows how that maps onto an actual project board — here a sample called "Launch plan.wag.dk" — with tasks distributed across the three status columns.
Pricing and privacy
Dandori costs $0 and that does not expire. There is no credit card field anywhere in the sign-up flow. The privacy stance is explicit: no tracking, no analytics, minimal cookies, no ads, and users own their own data.
That last part matters more than it might sound. Most "free" planning tools monetise attention or data. Dandori does not. Whether that model is sustainable long-term is a fair question — but for now it is the commitment.
If you want to try it, the sign-in page is at plan.wag.dk.
